Martin J. Murphy received the B.Sc. degree in 1995, the P.G.Dip.Sci. in 1996 and the M.Sc. degree in 1997, all from the University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand.
He has had 15 years experience in meteorology with the New Zealand Meteorological Service prior to commencing university studies in 1991.
