R. Lee Gordon has been an oceanographer at Exxon Production Research Company since 1979. He graduated from Harvey Mudd College, obtained his Ph.D. in Oceanography from Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and was a postdoctoral Research Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for one year. Since joining Exxon, Dr. Gordon's major research interest has been the study of storm-driven currents with the objective of learning the appropriate physical model to be incorporated into numerical storm current models. He is presently studying methods to be used for measurement of the vertical profile of storm-driven currents.
