E. Lloyd Winacott (M'61) received a diploma in electronics technology from Ryerson Institute of Technology in Toronto, Ont., Canada, in 1953.He began his career with the Defence Research Board, part of which later became the Communications Research Centre of the Department of Communications, Ottawa, Ont., where he is presently employed as a Physical Scientist. He has worked on guided missile test systems, radio astronomy, UHF radar, HF radio direction finding, and sea-state radar. He was a member of the team that designed and built the Sampled Aperture Receiving Array (SARA) at Ottawa, Ont.
