Finn B. Jensen was born in Aalborg, Denmark, in 1943. He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in engineering science from the Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby, in 1968 and 1971, respectively. From 1969 to 1973 he was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Fluid Mechanics, the Technical University of Denmark. Since 1973 he has been employed as a Scientist at the SACLANT Undersea Research Centre, La Spezia, Italy. In 198l he became head of the Environmental Modeling Group within the Underwater Research Division. His research interest is in numerical modeling of wave propagation in the ocean and on the sea floor.
Dr. Jensen is a fellow of the Acoustical Society of America.
