Roland S. Burns has earned the M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees.He is presently Reader in Control Engineering and Deputy Head of the School of Manufacturing, Materials and Mechanical Engineering and Director of the Teaching Company Centre at the University of Plymouth, UK. He is the author of 98 publications. His major research interests include control and guidance of marine vehicles, mathematical modeling and computer simulation, intelligent systems design, and advanced automated and robotic systems analysis.
Dr. Burns is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Chartered Engineer.
