George P. Zvara was born in New York City in 1954. He received the B.A. degree in geology in 1976 from Boston University and the M.S. degree in geology in 1980 from Boston College.He worked in New Orleans, LA for the Amoco Production Company from 1979 to 1984 as an exploration geophysicist. Since 1984, he has worked at the Naval Underwater Systems Center, now the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in new London, CT. At N.U.W.C., his research is centered around sonar signal processing and high performance computing. His research interests include digital signal processing, massively parallel processing and ocean acoustics.
