Didier Mauuary received the French Eng. degree in ocean engineering from the Ecole Centrale de Paris in 1989 and the D.E.A. and the Ph.D. degrees in signal, image, and speech processing from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, France, in 1994.
He then held a two-year post-doctoral position at Institut fur Meereskunde, Kiel, Germany. He is now a contract research engineer at LIS (CEPHAG), Grenoble, France. Since 1989, he has been a seagoing researcher in signal processing with particular interests in developing effective methods for observing ocean processes and validating the acoustical modeling of the ocean. His primary emphasis is on operational signal processing for ocean acoustic tomography. His particular research proram covers the development of the synthetic aperture technique for tomography and the understanding of acoustic variability and related signal processing issues in shallow-water areas.
Dr. Mauuary is a member of the Acoustical Society of America and the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society.
