Roberto Cristi (S'82-M'83) was born in Ferrara, Italy, on September 3, 1952. He graduated (maxima cum laude) in electrical engineering from the University of Padua (Italy) in 1977, received the M.Sc. degree from UMIST, Manchester, and Brunel University, Uxbridge (UK), and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1983, all in electrical engineering.He has been with the University of Padua, Italy, the General Electric Company, Leicester (UK), and the University of Michigan, Dearborn. Also, he has been a Consultant for the Ford Motor Company. At the present time he is an Associate Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. His professional interests are in adaptive control, image processing, and signal processing.
Dr. Cristi is a member of Tau Beta Pi and Sigma Chi.
