Anthony J. Gow received the M.Sc. degree in 1965 and the D.Sc. degree in 1973 from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand.He is currently employed as a Geologist with the U.S. Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory in Hanover, NH. His long-term research interests have included studies of the structural, paleoclimatic, and physical properties of Antarctic, snow, and ice, principally through the analysis of ice cores from deep drill holes. More recently, he has been involved in studies of the crystalline structure and physical properties of lake, river, and sea ice, and has extended these studies to laboratory-grown model ices. Since 1985 he has been Adjunct Professor of Glaciology in the Earth Sciences Department of the University of New Hampshire, Durham.
Dr. Gow is a member of the International Glaciological Society and the Antarctican Society.
