David A. Fisher received the B.A. degree in geology from the University of California at Santa Barbara, in 1979, and the M.Sc. degree in geophysics from the University of Houston, Houston, TX, in 1983.

Between 1980 and 1981 he worked for Geophysical Systems Corporation in Pasadena, CA. While at the University of Houston he was a graduate research assistant at the Seismic Acoustics Laboratory. He is presently a research geophysicist for ARCO Oil and Gas Company, Dallas, TX. Research interests include 3-D exploration seismology and seismic stratigraphy.

He is a member of the SEG and AAPG.
