David C. Ricks received the S.M. and S.B. degrees in ocean engineering and the Ph.D. degree in acoustics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge. in 1983 and 1994, respectively.
From 1984 to 1987, he modeled noise transmission through submarine structures at Electric Boat, Groton, CT. From 1994 to 1996, he modeled underwater acoustic scattering and the acoustics of gunshots at Alliant Techsystems, Arlington, VA. Most recently, he works on structural acoustics and signal processing at SAIC, McLean, VA. His technical interests include real-time signal processing for live music performance.
