Shao-Yi Hsia received the M.S. degree from the National Taiwan Institute of Technology, Taiwan, in 1988 and the Ph.D. degree from the National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan, in 1997, both in mechanical engineering.
He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Yung-Ta College of Technology and Commerce, Taiwan. His general areas of interest include wave motion in microstructure solid, nondestructive evaluation, and ocean acoustics. His current research is focused on developing the anechoic used underwater and sonar detection in shallow water.
