Kurt M. Rittenmyer was born in Cincinnati, OH, on June 30, 1957. He received the B.S. degree in engineering from Harvey Mudd College, Claremont, CA, in 1979 and the Ph.D. degree in solid-state science from The Pennsylvania State University, University Park.He joined the Underwater Sound Reference Detachment of the Naval Research Laboratory in Orlando, FL, in November 1983 and currently is a Research Physicist involved in the development of materials used for various underwater acoustic applications.
Dr. Rittenmyer is an Affiliate of the IEEE and a member of the American Physical Society and the American Ceramic Society.
