Kazuo Taguchi was born on January 16, 1930, in Japan. He graduated from Hakodate College of Fisheries (now Faculty of Fisheries, Hokkaido University).He worked on a merchant ship as a Deck Officer for five years. He then joined the Faculty of Fisheries, Kagoshima University, Kagoshima, Japan, where he is currently a Professor of marine electronics, specializing in navigational instruments. Since 1960, his studies have been focused on the hyperbolic navigation system in view of radio propagation. He has published numerous papers on hyperbolic systems, and has authored two books on radio navigation systems.
Dr. Taguchi is a member of the Institute of Navigation of Japan, the United States Institute of Navigation, and the Institute of Electronics and Communication Engineers of Japan.
