Edward W. Early (S'48-A'52-M'57) is a Senior Engineer at the Applied Physics Laboratory, University of Washington, Seattle, where he designs instrumentation systems for use in underwater acoustics and Arctic technology.

Currently Chairman of the Council of Oceanic Engineering, he has served as Chairman of the Seattle Section of the IEEE in 1971 and was Cochairman of the Ocean '73 Conference held in Seattle.
