James M. Syck (M'80) received the B.S. degree from the University of Washington in 1960, the M.S. degree from the University of Washington in 1964, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Miami in 1980.He is currently Ocean Engineer, Naval Underwater Systems Center, New London, CT, where he has been since 1970. His prior experience includes nine years as a Naval Officer and one year as a senior scientist at Lockheed California Company. His research interests include underwater acoustic propagation modeling and the effects of oceanographic variability on underwater acoustics.
Dr. Syck is a member of AGU, SEG, and the Oceanography Society.
