Len Zedel received the B.Sc. and M.S. degrees in physics from the University of Victoria, Canada, in 1982 and 1985, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in physical oceanography from the University of British Columbia, Canada, in 1991.
He is currently a Research Associate in the Department of Physics and Physical Oceanography at Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. His research interests are in ocean acoustics, near-surface processes, ocean ambient sound, and suspended sediment dynamics.
Dr. Zedel is a member of the American Geophysical Union.
