Dennis C. Cooper received the B.Sc. degree in 1947, the M.Sc. degree in information engineering in 1959, and then submitted a dissertation on radar detection to obtain the Ph.D. degree in 1961, all from the University of Birmingham, Birmingham, U.K.Between 1947 and 1958 he worked on microwave radar with AEI Ltd. in Manchester, U.K. He has researched and lectured on topics relating to radar, communication, and navigation systems for the past 24 years and is presently Reader in Electronic Engineering at the University of Birmingham.
