Sang C. Lee was born in Seoul, Korea, on February 20, 1948. He received the B.S. degree from Scoul National University, Scoul, Korea, in 1971, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, in 1973, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Duke University, Durham, NC, in 1976.

After receiving his doctorate he became employed by Western Union Space Corn, Inc., Upper Saddle River, NJ. His research interests are in digital filtering, signal detection and estimation, stochastic approximations, and applications to underwater acoustic signal processing.
