H. Tüg received the doctoral degree in physics at the Ruhr University of Bochum, West Germany, in 1974.Since 1983 he has directed the Department of Electronics of the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar Research, Bremerhaven, West Germany. He has worked mainly in the fields of detector development and electronics.
Dr. Tüg is a member of the Deutsche Gesellschaft for Polarforschung and the International Astronomical Union.
