Eduardo Mercado III (S'90-M'98) received the B.E. degree in computer engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, in 1993 and the M.A. degree in psychology, the M.Sc., degree in electrical engineering, and the Ph.D. degree in psychology from the University of Hawaii, Honolulu, in 1995 and 1998, respectively. The topic of his M.A. thesis was "An acoustical analysis of humpback whale song units," the M.Sc. thesis was "Computational models of sound production and reception in the humpback whale," and his doctoral dissertation was "Humpback whale bioacoustics."
He is now at the Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience, Rutgers University, Newark, NJ.
