Kazuhiro Hirasawa (S'69-M'70) received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Keio University, Tokyo, Japan, in 1964 and 1966, respectively; and the Ph.D. degree from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, in 1971, all in electrical engineering.From 1967 to 1975 he was with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Syracuse University. From 1975 to 1977 he was a consultant for the research and development of various antennas. Since 1978 he has been with the Institute of Applied Physics, University of Tsukuba, Sakura, Japan, where he is an Associate Professor. His interests include array optimization and application of numerical techniques to antenna and scattering problems. He is the co-author of Small Antennas (Research Studies Press, 1986).
