Ralph R. Goodman received the B.S.E., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in mathematics and physics from the University of Michigan in 1950, 1951, 1952, and 1958, respectively.
He has held positions at Colorado State University (1959-1968), The Naval Research Laboratory (1968-1976), the Naval Ocean Research and Development Activity (1976-1981), the SACLANT Undersea Research Laboratory (1981-1987), the University of Mississippi (1987-1990), the University of Southern Mississippi (1991-present), and the Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), State College (1991-present). He is currently on an Interagency Personnel Assignment from Penn State to the Naval Research Laboratory, Stennis Space Center, MS. His principal research activities during most of his career have been in ocean acoustics.
Dr. Goodman is a fellow of the Acoustical Society of America.
