Kenneth R. Allen was born in Cleveland, OH, on December 11, 1939. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, in 1961, 1964, and 1967, respectively.From 1967 to 1973, he was an Assistant Professor of Physics at the University of Florida, Gainesville. From 1974 to 1980 he was a Senior Research Physicist at the Naval Coastal Systems Center in Panama City, Florida. He is presently a member of the Senior Staff at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, Laurel, MD. His current research interests include statistical mechanics, electromagnetic theory, quantum field theory, oceanography, and signal processing.
