Michael A. Deaett (S'67-M'72) received the BSEE degree from Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI, in 1969 and the MS degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 1978.Since 1982 he has been a systems engineer with the Raytheon Company, Portsmouth, RI, where he specializes in the signal processing associated with sonar and communications products. His current involvement includes the design of multi-stave reverberation synthesizers, third-octave band equalization multi-rate filters, and a multi-stage towed array beamformer. Recently, he participated in the design and implementation of a FSK modem used for communication on the fading, scintillation channel. Prior to joining Raytheon, he was with General Electric Company where he conducted signal processing studies associated with acoustic and inertial guidance systems.
Mr. Deaett has published in the areas of multiple access communications and acoustic signature modeling. He is a member of the Acoustical Society of America.
