David A. Gershfeld

David A. Gershfeld was born in Bethesda, MD. He received the B.S. degree in physical sciences from the University of Maryland, in 1979. He pursued graduate work in fluid mechanics and chemical physics at the same university, and received the M.S. degree in aerospace engineering in 1981.

In 1981 he joined the Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, DC. At NRL his research for the past four years has been in the areas of underwater acoustic propagation and signal processing.

Mr. Gershfeld is a member of the Acoustical Society of America.
