Raymond J. Rose was born in Brisbane, Qld., Australia, in 1949.

He joined the air electronics support to the Royal Australian Airforce in 1968. In 1973 he moved to the technical staff of James Cook University of North Queensland, Australia, and in 1981 was appointed to his present position of Senior Research Assistant in the HF ocean radar group in the Physics Department. His main interest is in instrumentation, particularly for monitoring environmental parameters.
