Pierre Cervenka received the Doctorate degrees in acoustics and physics, both from the Pierre & Marie Curie University, Paris, in 1982 and 1988, respectively. In 1983, he joined the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) as a Research Scientist. Most of his studies were involved with nonlinear acoustics and modeling of parametric antennas. From 1989 to 1992, he was a Visiting Assistant Researcher at the Marine Physical Laboratory of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. He is now with the Laboratoire de Mécanique Physique (Université Paris 6), where his research interests are in underwater acoustics. For photo, please see the April 1993 issue of this JOURNAL.
