Chris Kirby received the B.Sc. (Hons.) in physics from Carleton University in 1967.He worked for 28 years in the Heat and Thermometry Section of the Division of Physics, National Research Council of Canada. His activities were related to temperature measurement and control in science and industry. His most recent accomplishment was the design and development of a computerized home thermostat. He has retured from NRC and now works as Chief Engineer for Valera Electronics, Inc., manufacturing the thermostat.
Mr. Kirby has published 15 scientific papers and developed and patented several electronic measurement and control systems.
