Daniel T. Cobra (S'89-M'90) received the degree of electrical engineer form the Universidade de Brasfília, Brazil, in 1983, the M.S. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, in 1986, and a joint Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from M.I.T. and in oceanographic engineering from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Woods Hole, MA, in 1990.

Since June 1990 he has been an Adjunct Professor at the Departamento de Engenharia Elétrica of the Uulversidade de Bras&ília, Brazil. His main area of research is digital signal processing and its applications to image processing and underwater, aerial, and satellite remote sensing.
