George O. Marmorino received the B.S. degree in meteorology and oceanography from New York University, Bronx, NY, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physical oceanography form Oregon State University, Corvallis, in 1974 and 1977, respectively.
He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Center for Great Lakes Studies, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, from 1976 to 1978. He was with the Department of Oceanography, Florida State University, Tallahassee, from 1978 to 1982. Since 1983, he has been employed as an Oceanographer at the Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, DC, where he is now Head of the Oceanographic and Electromagnetic Interaction Section. His current work involves developing a better understanding of the relationships between near-surface oceanographic and atmospheric processes and their signatures in radar and other imagery.
