Steven A. Stotts received the B.S. degree in physics and applied mathematics, the B.S.E.E. degree, and the M.S. degree in experimental physics, respectively, studying subsurface defects using laser beam deflection techniques, all from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX, in 1980, 1981, and 1982, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988, studying nuclear structure theory.
In 1982, he was employed at Core Laboratories and was involved in the development of measuring while drilling (MWD) tools. From 1983 to 1985, he worked in experimental fluid dynamics. In 1988, he did post-doctoral work in nuclear theory at the University of Texas at Austin and has been employed at the University of Texas Applied Research Laboratories since 1989. His interests include ocean and seismo-acoustics, signal processing, and propagation modeling. Other interests include nonlinear dynamics and nuclear theory.
Dr. Stotts is a member of Sigma Pi Sigma and the Acoustical Society of America.
