Karen A. Harper received the B.Eng. degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1995 and the M.S. degree from Boston University, Boston, MA, in 1997, both in mechanical engineering.
As a graduate student, her interests focused in the areas of robotics and control research, specifically in biologically inspired robot locomotion. In 1997, she joined Charles River Analytics, Inc., Cambridge, MA, where she is currently developing intelligent autonomous agents for implementation in human-in-the-loop simulation and to aid in human decision-making. Particular areas of interest include expert systems, fuzzy logic, and Bayesian network reasoning.
