Yoji Higashi was born in Japan, on April 6, 1948. He received the B.S. degree in physics from Toyama University, Toyama, Japan, in 1972.In 1972, he joined the Laboratory Division of Japan Radio Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, where he was engaged in the research and development of acoustic systems. His recent interests include information theory, pattern recognition, digital signal, and image processing.
