Tetsuro Yabuta

Tetsuro Yabuta was born in Shimane Prefecture, Japan, on July 19, 1949. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering from Tokyo University, Tokyo, Japan, in 1972 and 1974, respectively.

He joined the Ibaraki Electrical Communication Laboratory, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation, Ibaraki, Japan, where he had been engaged in research on submarine coaxial cable structure design and submarine optical fiber cable structure design. He is presently a Staff Engineer and is engaged in research on construction and maintenance robots for telecommunication outside plants.

Mr. Yabuta is a member of the Institute of Electronics and Communication Engineers of Japan and the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers.
