Onsy A. Abdel Alim (M'89) was born in 1943. He received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Alexandria University, Egypt, in 1964, and the Ph.D. (Dr. Ing.) degree in acoustics from the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, in 1973.He was a Teaching Assistant on the Faculty of Engineering of Alexandria University from 1964 to 1968, and was a member of a delegation for postgraduate studies at the Technical University of Dresden from 1968 to 1973. Since 1974 he has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Alexandria University, first as a Lecturer, then as an Assistant Professor, and currently as a Professor. His research interests are in acoustics, signal processing, and noise control.
