James L. Martin received the B.S. degree in computer studies from the University of Maryland in 1990, graduating cum laude.
From 1983 to 1987, he served in the United States Air Force in Germany and worked as a computer maintenance technician and was responsible for maintaining three separate computer systems used in the field. From 1990 to 1995, he was employed at the University of Texas Applied Research Laboratories. His research interests included data acquisition, analog/digital data conversion, and the development of software to support data acquisition and analysis on both Unix-based and personal computer systems. From 1996 to the present, he has been employed at Talley Defense Systems as a Scientific Programmer/Analyst and is involved in developing company-wide data acquisition systems in support of commercial and military programs including the development of modules for use in diagnostic testing of data acquisition systems.
Mr. Martin was selected Technician of the Year by the USAF in 1987.
