Mike D. Moorhead received the B.Sc. degree in electronic and electrical engineering from the University of Manchester in 1968.From 1968 to 1978 he served in the Royal Air Force as an Engineering Officer. Since 1978 he has been a Research Fellow in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Birmingham, Birmingham, U.K. His research interests are the application and technology of HF radar systems and, in particular, sea-state remote sensing. In 1983 he became a founder and the Managing Director of Neptune Radar Ltd. and his Fellowship became Honorary. Neptune Radar is a member of the University of Birmingham Institute of Research and Development.
