Anton Nagl (M'87) was born in Munich, West Germany. He received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University, Munich, in 1961 and the Ph.D. degree in nuclear physics in 1983 from the Catholic University of America, Washington, DC.From 1964 to 1971 he was with the Naval Weapons Laboratory (now Naval Surface Warfare Center), Dahlgren, VA, where he worked on computer software and computer simulation projects for submarine-based and airborne attack systems. In 1972 he joined the Catholic University where he has been working on pion-nuclear physics, underwater sound propagation, electromagnetic and acoustic resonance scattering, channeling radiation, and ionospheric propagation of electromagnetic waves.
Dr. Nagl is a member of the Acoustical Society of America.
