Y. Gabillet (deceased 1999) received the Ph.D. degree in acoustics from the University of Le Mans, France, in 1980.
From 1981 to 1985, he was consultant in acoustics. In 1985, he joined the Centre Scientifique et Technique de Batiment, CSTB, where he was involved in the research and development of outdoor noise propagation methods and softwares. From 1990 to 1991, he was Guest Scientist of the National Research Council of Canada, Ottawa.
