A. S. Pandya received his undergraduate education at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India, and the M.S and Ph.D degrees in computer science from Syracuse University, Syracuse, in 1984 and 1988, respectively.

Currently he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and also in the Advanced Marine Systems Group, Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton. He has published more than 40 papers in the areas of neural networks, computational intelligence, vision, and VLSI design. He has also been a consultant for the industry.
