Kenneth L. Larner received the degree of Geophysical Engineer from the Colorado School of Mines in 1960 and the Ph.D. degree in geophysics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, in 1970.He served two years as an Officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Lawrence Radiation Laboratory, Livermore, CA, and in Vietnam. In 1970 he joined Western Geophysical Company as a Senior Research Geophysicist specializing in signal processing, wave propagation, and velocity studies. He is currently Vice President of Geophysical Research at Western Geophysical Company.
Dr. Larner received the Best Presentation Award for a paper presented at the 1975 SEG meeting in Denver; Best Paper at the 1976 CSEG meeting in Calgary; Best Paper in Geophysics in 1976; Outstanding O.T.C. Geophysical Paper Award in 1978; and Best Paper Award at the 1981 Australian Petroleum Exploration Association Meeting in Adelaide, Australia. He is a former First Vice-President of the SEG. He is also a member of the EAEG and the Geophysical Society of Houston.
