Yuichi Shirasaki (M'74) received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in communication engineering from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, in 1971 and 1973, respectively.
He joined the Kokusai Denshin Denwa Company Ltd. (KDD), Tokyo, Japan, in 1973. He has been engaged in the development of instruments, cable plow, remotely operated vehicles, and autonomous underwater vehicles for submarine cables in KDD R&D Laboratories. He is presently a President of Kokusai Marine Engineering Corp. (K-Marine), which is concerned with oceanographic survey and ocean civil engineering.
