T. W. Yates received the Masters degree in mathematics from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
He has worked for Vector Research Company, Inc. for the past 15 years; working primarily in the area of underwater acoustics. He has been involved in the analysis and prediction of sound propagation in under-ice and shallow water environments with the Acoustic Signal Processing Branch of the Naval Research Laboratory. For the Target Physics Branch of the Carderock Division of the Naval Surface Weapons Center, he has been involved in the development and implementation of acquisition and analysis system for the prediction and measurement of target strength data.
