Lorelle A. Meadows received the B.S. degree in 1983 and the M.S. degree in physical oceanography from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1985. She is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree at the University of Michigan.

Her background involves near-shore and coastal sediment and hydrodynamics as well as air-sea interaction problems. In 1987, she joined the staff of the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the University of Michigan. As a Research Associate in the Ocean Engineering Laboratory, her research has focused on the response of the coastal environment to atmospheric forcing, including climate variability, and the application of high frequency (HF) radar systems in coastal oceanography. She is the co-author of 20 publications and numerous technical reports related to the physics of the coastal ocean and Great Lakes.

Ms. Meadows is a member of the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association, the American Society of Limnology and Oceanography, and the International Association for Great Lakes Research.
