James F. Arnold (S'78-M'81) was born in Waunakee, Wisconsin, on July 31, 1956. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI, in 1979, and in 1981 received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University, Stanford, CA.From 1979 to 1981 he was employed by Signal Science of Santa Clara, California, and in 1981 began his current employment at Bolt, Beranek, and Newman Inc., of Cambridge, MA. His areas of technical interest include digital signal processing, communication theory, and the design and development of interactive analysis software.
