Larry M. Deuser received the BSEE and MSEE degrees from Purdue University in 1962 and 1964, respectively, and the Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1975.

From 1968 to 1977 he was with the Applied Research Laboratories of the University of Texas, Austin, TX. His work involved signal and image processing for both hydrospace and aerospace remote sensing. He was with Hughes, Culver City, CA from 1964 to 1967 working on early synchronous satellite and synthetic aperture radar analysis. He has authored or co-authored more than 80 papers and reports. He is the Director of the Signal and Image Processing Department at Tracor Applied Sciences, Inc. Austin, TX. Since joining Tracor in 1977, he has performed and directed efforts in innovative approaches to signal and image processing for automatic and semiautomatic detection/classification. The techniques involved include artificial neural networks, parametric and nonparametric classification, optimal feature extraction and selection, and adaptive processing. The applications have been to the underwater acoustical and optical domains.
