Young-hoon Yoon received the B.S. and M.E. degrees in electrical engineering from Kyung-pook National University, South Korea, in 1984 and 1986, respectively.In 1988, he joined Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), South Korea, where he worked on the development of digital transmission systems. Since 1993, he has been studying for the Ph.D. program at University of Victoria, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. His current research interests are in digital communication systems for a shallow water acoustic channel.
