Haruyoshi Matsumoto was born in Matsuyama, Ehime-prefecture, Japan, on July 27, 1952. He received the B.S. degree in marine electronics from Tokai University (Japan) in 1974, and the Ph.D. degree in ocean engineering from the University of Hawaii, Honolulu, in 1984.He was an Acoustic Engineer at the Hawaii Institute of Geophysics, University of Hawaii, from 1984 and 1989. He is currently a Senior Engineer at Seafloor Surveys International, Seattle, WA. His research interests include three-dimensional sonar scanning, image processing, and instrumentations.
Dr. Matsumoto is a member of the Acoustical Society of America and the American Geophysical Union.
