Edward J. Yoerger received the B.S. degree in physics from the Louisiana State University. New Orleans, LA, in 1972 and the M.S. degree in applied physics from the University of New Orleans, New Orleans, LA, in 1978.
From 1973 to 1979, he worked as a geophysicist for the U.S. Geological Survey. From 1980 to 1981, he worked at the Laboratoire Nationale Saturne in Saclay, France, programming for the synchotron accelerator. From 1981 to 1985, he worked as a software engineer for DATARAN Corp. in Metairie, LA. Currently, he is working at the Naval Research Lab, Stennis Space Center, where his interest in underwater acoustics have included such areas as bottom reverberation, transient signal analysis, ambient noise studies, and high-frequency shallow water surface scattering.
